Geometry - Week 13: Lesson 3: Area of Triangles
In this lesson, we will learn about the different types of triangles and how we classify them.
We can classify triangles based on their sides, and by their angles:

Translations:
Equilateral = liksidig
Isosceles = likbent
Scalene = oliksidig
Acute = spetsvinklig
Right = rätvinklig
Obtuse = trubbvinklig
We will also be calculating the area of triangles.
We find the area of a triangle by multiplying the base x height, and then dividing by 2.
It can also be shown as:

In the example above, the base is 4cm, and the height is 6cm.
To solve for the area:
4 x 6 = 24
24 divided by 2 = 12
so the area is 12 cm²
The base can be any side of the triangle, but it is often easiest to use the bottom side.
The height is the distance from the base to the opposite corner (hörn).
The base and the height are always perpendicular to each other (vinkelrät).
