Geometry - Week 10: Lesson 1: Intro to Geometry
In this lesson, we will learn how to measure lines and draw them correctly. We will also look at the properties of lines.
Geometry - The area of mathematics that deals with points, lines, shapes and space.
Geometri - den gren av matematiken som sysslar med rumsbegrepp som punkt, linje och plan samt med de figurer och kroppar som bildas med hjälp av dessa.
In Geometry a line (linje):
- is straight (no curves)
- has no thickness
- extends in both directions without end (infinitely)
When a line does have ends, it is called a line segment (sträcka).
When a line has one end, it is called a ray (stråle).
Parallel Lines (parallella linjer)
Always the same distance apart and never touching.
Here the red and blue lines are parallel.
Here the red and blue lines are parallel.
Perpendicular Lines (vinkelräta linjer)
At right angles (90°) to each other.
