Algebra - Week 4: Lesson 1- Substituting Expressions
Lesson Objective: Students will be solving expressions. They will be given a value for 1 or more of the variables in the expression and follow the steps to solve.
Review writing expressions from words.
Be able to write expressions from the following phrases:
A number + 5 (n + 5)
14 minus a number (14 - n)
a number multiplied 9 times (9n)
a number divide by 6 (n/6)
a number multiplied by 4 minus 2 (4n - 2)
This time give them a value for n (ex. n = 12). What would each of these problems equal?
